About This Partnership

Offered through the Gordon-Zeto Center

The Gordon-Zeto Center for Global Education reaffirms Spelman’s commitment to engage students with “many cultures of the world.” Global EDGE is offered through the Center as a structured, credential-backed extension of that mission — giving all Spelman students a way to build and document global competencies regardless of whether they’ve traveled internationally.

For students returning from a semester abroad, Global EDGE is the career translation layer — the structured reflection and documented credential that makes your experience legible to employers. For students who haven’t traveled, Global EDGE builds those competencies directly, through real-world professional scenarios and applied practice.

Real-world scenario practice

Five modules built around a running professional scenario, mapped to NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) and World Economic Forum competency frameworks — the standards employers actually use.

The Curriculum

Five modules. Six weeks. Your pace.

2–3 hours per week. Fully asynchronous. A running scenario connects every module — you apply what you’re learning to the same professional situation, then return to it at the end to see how your thinking has grown.

1

Know Yourself, Know Your Strengths: Leadership identity, core strengths, values, and emotional intelligence. Begins the Leadership Action Plan.

2

Lead Across Cultures & Teams: The skills for leading across difference — navigating cultural complexity and building trust in diverse professional environments.

3

Communicate with Impact + Digital Fluency: Leadership narrative, active listening, professional storytelling, LinkedIn, and sound judgment when using AI tools professionally.

4

Make Decisions, Map Your Impact: Values-based decision-making under ambiguity — for the situations where the right answer isn’t obvious and the stakes are real.

5

Learning Synthesis + Capstone: Return to your opening scenario with four modules behind you. Complete your Leadership Action Plan. Receive your certificate.
